Healthy Habits in Your Family
I just want to share this short article with you which I read from a magazine --Beautiful You-- Volumen 2 Issue 1 written by D.H the Tips that Inspire.
Are you relying on takeout pizza on those busy days when your're juggling a late night at work with carting the kids to soccer practice? Are you skipping that lunchtime walk in favor of catching up on your e-mail? The best way to stay healthy and fit is to be consistent. It's easier to keep a habit than to start one, so here are some simple tips to keep you going:

You have to grocery shop and cook, so do those tasks with your kids, advises Dr. Neeru Bakshi with The Moore Center, Washington State's largest eating disorder treatment center. This makes children more aware of what they're eating and gives you an opportunity to discuss healthy choices with them as you show them how to prepare nutritious meals.
Vow to eat seafood twice a week, advises Judy Giusti, registered dietician at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. Fish is a lower-calorie entree that gives you the added benefit of omega 3's. Good choices include salmon, sardines and mackerel.
Make veggies half your plate at every meal, Giusti adds. This can be a fun challenge when you involve your kids. Try slicing and dicing in fun shapes.
Take a 10-minute walk with your family after dinner. Dr. Cynthia Thaik, a Harvard-trained cardiologist and author of Your Vibrant Heart, says it may seem simple, but small changes are easier to undertake and commit to. So don't skip exercising just because you don't have 30 minutes. Take 10 minutes for some simple family activity.
